How Many Items Can You Put On a Rotisserie At One Time?
Finding the right rotisserie spit is important. There are basically two different types of rotisseries being used today. The horizontal style is used for most applications. Most often they are used to cook chickens, and other common meats such as pork and beef. It doesn’t matter if using BBQ grill, open flame, or electric oven, it’s a good idea to make sure that the unit is in balance, and able to easily turn the meats that are attached to it. If it doesn’t turn easily then the food may not be cooked or may possibly burn. Using a locking mechanism within rotisserie spit assembly is necessary to keep items in place and spinning correctly.
Other variations are the kind used in a commercial application such as a grocery store. Typically, these spits are mounted inside a commercial sized oven, and rotate vertically. Heat is applied from either the bottom or sides, and the meats are allowed to slowly cook evenly.
Knowing beforehand what size and kinds of meats will be slow cooked, will give the best idea of how to find the rotisserie spit you need.
